Welcome to Good News Lutheran School. Our community is a special one that places an emphasis on quality learning, faith and values development and pastoral care. At Good News we aim for every student to:

  • Develop an understanding of God's love and his desire for us to live in a personal relationship with him.
  • Experience successes and develop a life-long love of learning.
  • Develop and maintain a positive self concept and personal resilience;
  • Experience and share high levels of pastoral care throughout the whole community.
  • Value all of God's creation through a life of Christ-like service to others.

As a community of learners, we value innovation in education whilst still providing a solid foundation in the basics of literacy and numeracy. We also seek to meet each child's needs in partnership with their parents so that they can reach their full potential whilst also being a positively contributing member of the community. For this reason, we have based our school's values program on the foundations of Identity, Compassion and Respect.

We thank you for your interest in our school and hope that you find the information contained on our website useful. Please note that some aspects of the site can only be accessed and viewed via the Parent Portal using a unique eGate Login code, which is made available upon commencement of your child at Good News.

Good News is an independent co-educational school providing quality education for children from Prep to Year 6. It is founded on the principles of the Christian faith as taught by the Lutheran Church of Australia. We first opened our doors to students in 1984, and today we offer Christian education in well equipped modern facilities.

We aim to deliver an educational experience that meets each child wherever they are on their individual journey and move them forward in a positive and supportive environment. Every child is important to us and we seek to work in partnership with you to give them the best opportunities for success that we can.

Set in the heart of the Centenary suburbs, Good News encompasses attractively landscaped grounds including grassy shaded areas for seating and play, playgrounds for motor skill development, a swimming pool, netball / basketball / tennis courts, and an oval for team games. Good News has two classes per year level and is currently capped at 385 students.

Our school week runs from Monday to Friday. Our school day starts at 8.10 am and finishes at 2.45 pm. We have 4 school terms each year which are usually 10 weeks each.

Vision Statement to Connect, Innovate and Enhance. To position Good News for continued success in God's glory, we desire to:

  • Broaden and strengthen community partnerships in order to enhance learning and development.
  • Develop consistent, contemporary teaching and learning that supports innovation and creative problem solving.
  • Strengthen processes and structures to ensure sustainability for future generations.
