Griffin State School

Since opening in 2016, our school has grown from 260 students, to 930+ with numbers expected to grow due to the addition of more classrooms and learning centres, as well as our existing first rate facilities. Students at Griffin are privileged to be educated in modern facilities with up to date technologies, purposely designed to cater for each cohort at their developmental age; ensuring they have what they need to be successful 21st Century learners.

We believe in an inquiry approach to learning and aim to foster our learners' curiosity so that they leave our school more curious about the world than when they arrived. We believe that each child can and will learn, given the right time and support and that the continued progress of each child is a shared responsibility in a genuine partnership with all members of our school community.

Humanity and Integrity remind us that schools are a work of not just the mind, but also the heart. Grit reminds us every day that success is a result of commitment and determination, often with challenge. It is our hope that the learners at Griffin will take these values with them through life, shaping them into thoughtful, compassionate and determined young people.

As a community we welcome the input of parents, carers and families, and hope that you will immerse yourselves in the culture that we have created whether that be through joining our amazing P&C, stopping by for a Coffee at Monty's in the morning, or attending the many school functions our school hosts to show off the incredible talent of our young learners.

As principal my approach is highly personal and interactive. Knowing the students, their families and the staff and building highly effective teams that work collaboratively to ensure each child is given every opportunity to succeed, is at the heart of my work.
