Guangdong Country Garden School

GCGS was founded in 1994; it is a leading international boarding school, which offers education for K-12 students. There are more than 4,800 students and 700 faculty members including approximately 100 international teachers. The school is the flagship school of Bright Scholar Education Group

GCGS provides PYP, MYP, DP, IGCSE, A-Level, and AP programs, and it is the first school in mainland China that offers IB PYP, MYP and DP as a continuum. The school has been one of the three executive committee members of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) in Southern China since 2015. In 2016, GCGS became the first cooperative partner in Southern China for CAIE. And it has established partnership with Cambridge Assessment English in 2020 as well. GCGS is one of the two schools in Southern China that has been accredited to implement AP Capstone. GCGS is also a CIS member school.

The school conducts in-depth research on the integration of international programs and Chinese national curriculum. The project of “The Bay Area Research on the Integration of National and International Curricula Based on Developing Core Competencies of Chinese Students” was established in the Basic Curriculum and Textbook Development Center of the Ministry of Education and the Curriculum and Textbook Research Institute. The results of research and practices have been highly recognized by experts from the Basic Education Curriculum and Textbook Development Center of the Ministry of Education.

The school has achieved remarkable teaching results. The acceptance rate for the world’s top 50 universities and US News top 50 universities has reached over 90% for six consecutive years. The school has been awarded Advanced Group of National Private Education, First Class School in Guangdong Province, Guangdong Provincial Advanced Private School, Guangdong Private Education Institution with Outstanding Contribution for 40 Years, “TOEFL® English Learning Cooperative Demonstration School”. The school is ranked 10th in “Hurun Education Top International Schools in China”.

Located in Shunde Country Garden, Beijiao Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, Guangdong Country Garden School is in the hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area.
