Our vision at Harris Academy Peckham is to ensure every child achieves excellence in all aspects of academy life. We have high aspirations, both in terms of academic standards and personal development, in order to prepare your child for the demands of the 21st century global workplace. We expect every child to excel, and will provide the necessary challenge and support to make this happen.

In line with all Harris Academies, we ensure that we prepare engaging and innovative learning experiences for our students, within a disciplined context where good manners, smart uniform and mature conduct are expected from all.

Our provision is from Year 7 to Year 13, with an expectation that all of our students remain with us for Sixth Form programmes of study.

The Academy offers a wide range of high quality academic and vocational courses. Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) is delivered through a combination of discrete lessons, the Tutorial Programme and a range of "drop down days" that run during the course of each year.

The Key Stage 3 curriculum is followed by students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Following their admissions tests for the Academy, Year 7 students are placed in mixed ability tutor groups tutor groups. However students are then placed in the apporpraite sets determined by these tests for the core subjects (English, Maths and Science).

The Key Stage 4 curriculum is followed by Years 10 and 11. The Academy offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses. All students are given options, advice and guidance and then make their choices during the Spring term in Year 9.

The Academy tries as far as possible to cater for all subject choices within the timetable, but if only a small number of students express preferences for a Key Stage 4 course it may not be possible to offer the course. Some subjects may also be oversubscribed, in which case students will be selected according to their aptitude and attitude to learning.

At Harris Academy Peckham we offer a wide range of highly successful academic and vocational courses. These include A/AS Levels, CTech Level 3 and vocational City and Guilds qualifications. The range of courses on offer has been carefully selected in order to meet the needs of a wide range of students.

Harris Academy Peckham Post 16 offers a broad curriculum. This allows us to accommodate the wide variety of courses students now wish to follow. Our Academy comprises a successful and vibrant Post 16 where students routinely achieve good grades and progress onto both higher education and successful careers. This reflects not only the range of courses on offer, but also the high quality of teaching and excellent support systems available. Our teachers are very well qualified and they make use of tried and tested teaching techniques coupled with the latest technology, in first class facilities.

Our students are regularly encouraged to reflect upon their performance with their tutors and to set goals for themselves that will lead to future success.

The majority of our students progress onto Higher Education. Student destinations include all types of universities and colleges across the United Kingdom and beyond.

Harris Academy Peckham Post 16 aims to provide high quality teaching and student support. Moving onto the teaching of students at Key stage 5 broadens our opportunities as an Academy to create a larger community of hard working and dedicated young people that others within the Academy should aspire to join. Our expectations are that the majority of the Post 16 students will go on to higher or further education. Our aim is to provide a broad and balanced education which will equip students with the abilities, confidence, and qualifications to take their place in the adult environment.

Post 16 will be a place for many students to study locally but, more importantly, a place for students to experience the very best opportunities in all aspects of academic studies, develop a greater awareness of the world and, of course, themselves.
