The Head of School role is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic and operational leader to inspire excellence and continuous improvement in learning, teaching, research and innovation within the School.
Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Head of School will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the PVC and Faculty Deans to establish clear and agreed operational plans, goals and priorities for the School;
- Conducting annual operational planning through the establishment of a committee structure and associated leadership roles.
- Using your passion and vision to engage academic and non-academic colleagues, students and industry partners in a long-term strategy focussed on outcomes and excellence, aligned with the Faculty and the School;
- Managing staffing functions, including workforce planning, recruitment, and training and development;
- Managing School finances, including preparing the School budget and managing expenditure against targets;
- Establishing and maintaining strong domestic and international connections with relevant government, business, professional bodies and the wider community.
