Head of Student Welfare

Job Summary

GEMS Founders Al Mizhar, Dubai are looking to appoint a Head of Student Welfare. As a middle leader you will lead, manage, and be accountable for the quality of school’s pastoral provision, the school House system, educational visits leadership and the EP/ASA provision, in order to promote the fulfilment of the school’s vision:

To empower students to have the heart to celebrate uniqueness and the mind to be innovative, creative problem solvers, bringing a positive change to the world in which we live

Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting and ensuring student development and well being.
• Leading teaching and learning and managing policy within the context of the Student Welfare.
• Leading and managing people and teams.
• Managing resources.
• Promoting and representing the Welfare of all students.

The successful applicant will have the following:

• B.Ed. or a relevant qualification at degree level and a recognized teaching qualification such as a PGCE / PGDE.
• Minimum 3 years’ teaching the National Curriculum for England.
• A personal track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
• Experience in a similar position.

The successful candidate will be resilient with excellent written and verbal communication skills, will have experience leading a team and effecting positive change.
