Heritage College offer high quality education supported by Christian, God focussed values for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Our school "family" is very important to us at Heritage College. We believe that nurturing a caring, loving and Godly environment will ensure that students have a safe and positive place to learn and excel academically. We are strongly focused on providing student-centered learning to enable every child to excel and to achieve their best. Having a close-knit school community means that every student is well known and cared for in an individual way.
Understanding each student individually enables who who excel in certain areas the opportunity to advance at their own pace and conversely, students who require a little more support in some areas to have the reinforcement and support which they need. Since our commencement in February 2006 Heritage College has set about to shape students for a life outside of the classroom. Academically, physically and spiritually well rounded students will inevitably become highly valued citizens and adults in the future.
The College aims to assist each individual student to achieve their maximum potential in the following areas:
- Intellectually – by providing for the maximum development of each student’s academic potential in the preparation needed for their vocation and for participation in contemporary Australian society;
- Spiritually – by providing an environment where students can learn to know God and His teachings from the Bible;
- Physically – by providing opportunities to develop sporting pursuits, physical exercise and a healthy lifestyle;
- Emotionally – by providing a caring, supportive community environment where Christ’s teachings are practised every day and opportunities given for students to learn that values and emotional responses need to be consistent with Christ’s teaching;
- Social Education – to encourage students to become increasingly responsible for their own behaviour, to work well with others, make conscious decisions about their lives and to develop tolerance towards and acceptance of others.
The College exists to provide for students a Christ-centred environment that:
- Encourages them to become fully aware of their potential as a person formed to manifest the character of God;
- Fosters the need to explore and develop an appreciation for and active commitment to, the godly values of honesty, purity, diligence and excellence;
- Helps all students to achieve their full potential by encouraging them to strive for excellence, using their talents in the service of others, and for the benefit of themselves;
- Provides a secular and religious curriculum based on Biblical values offering a wide range of quality educational opportunities so as to foster the intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and social development of students;
- Encourages respect for authority and for the standards of the College;
- Recognises the value of parents within the College Community and supports them in their role as the prime educators of their children;
- Helps students to feel accepted, valued and loved;
- Assists the development of the knowledge and skills necessary to earn a living and for success in life and relationships in the general community and with other cultures;
