Holy Cross College is a Catholic, residential, coed, four-year institution of higher learning, offering an applied liberal arts curriculum. It was founded in 1966 and continues to be conducted by the Brothers of Holy Cross a society of lay religious men within the Congregation of Holy Cross (CSC) who take vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience as a way to more creatively and intimately serve the mission of our Savior Jesus Christ, His Body – the Church, and the needs of the world. Brothers of Holy Cross serve through ministries which educate and sensitize persons to the need of the world for justice and peace.
The mission of Holy Cross College is to educate and form global citizens with the competence to see and the courage to act. Holy Cross is a Catholic college that advances the apostolic mission of the Brothers of Holy Cross. Our practical, experiential, liberal arts curriculum applies timeless truths to contemporary life and leads people to wholeness in the image of Christ.
By the end of academic year 2017-2018, Holy Cross College will be recognized as a vibrant, distinctively Catholic, residential, baccalaureate, liberal arts college with an enrollment of more than 600 students.
The College’s unique, experiential curriculum provides traditional and nontraditional students with the information, formation and transformation they need to exercise leadership in a complex world.

The Holy Cross Experience prepares you to become a knowledgeable, compassionate, and confident leader in your chosen field. You’ll develop what the Brothers of Holy Cross call “the competence to see and the courage to act!”
Regardless of your major, all Holy Cross students share a core of exceptional academic experiences and individual accomplishments while earning their BA degree. From the first semester of freshman year to the final semester of senior year, you and your fellow classmates form a community of learners who participate in the same core curriculum and key experiences and together practice cooperation, communication and leadership to accomplish your goals.
College is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience everything under the sun. Whether you’re involved in a Holy Cross club or activity, contributing a video to the website, playing beach volleyball, tennis or flag football, working out, or playing basketball in our Pfeil Center, or just gathering a group of friends to share a coffee … you’ll have numerous opportunities to get involved. These are the kinds of opportunities that will enhance your learning experience in an entirely new way.
Cheer on the Saints in basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse and more and attend the Fighting Irish football games in the Holy Cross cheering section to experience big time college football at its best. You’ll find clubs, events, student organizations, special programs throughout the semester. There’s billiards, table tennis, even bowling at off-campus venues! Snowboarding, skiing, skating trips are the highlights of winter, while scavenger hunts, Las Vegas nights, dances, plays, performances and more will keep your social life humming.
