Hoosac School was founded in Hoosick, New York in 1889. For over 125 years Hoosac has been enrolling boarders and day students in Forms II-VI (Grades 8-12) and our postgraduate program. As a coeducational, college preparatory school, Hoosac celebrates each student's individuality in all aspects of their educational life. Our school is one of the best small co-educational preparatory boarding schools located in the capital region of New York. While being situated in New York, we are a very close drive to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Some students are driven by competing on sports teams, others are interested in staying fit and healthy without the rigors of being in a competitive environment. At Hoosac, we have all kinds of athletic choices for our young men and women. For those interested in competing at elite levels, Hoosac is part of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, which provides athletes with exposure to top northeastern colleges and universities.
The visual and performing arts are important to teachers and students at Hoosac, because they help us gain deeper insights into world cultures, literature, politics, ethics, religion, architecture and other disciplines.
