Moving to the UAE? As long as you meet the requirements, obtaining a residence visa in the UAE is an easy process. Some companies will also sponsor the employee’s spouse and child. There are several ways in which a residence visa can be obtained; keep reading for more info on how to get a residency visa in Dubai.
As of March 2016, the Immigration Office has changed the process in applying for visa. With the unveiling of the UAE Vision system, applicants are no longer required to visit the Immigration Department to apply for the visa. The entire process can be applied online. Applicants will be asked to visit authorized typing centers. These dedicated typing centers are responsible for the collection and submission of the documents with the Immigration Department and Emirates ID Authority.
It is important to note that residents need to look for the Amer logo when visiting typing centres for visa-related transactions. The Amer logo will be a clear indication that the typing centre is approved by the relevant authorities.
Once all documents are uploaded at the approved typing centre, the user is notified via email and the e-visa is sent once the application is approved.
New Employment Visa
If you have obtained a new job in the country or are changing your job, in order to work and live in the UAE, you will require a residence visa which is provided for by your company or employer. The process is similar in the Free Zones as well. However, in the free zones, you are not required to obtain Labour Approval through the Ministry of Labour.
UPDATE (February 2020): If an expatriate comes to the UAE as a new employee, he or she will have to get a good conduct certificate from his or her home country before the visa can be issued.
However, the certificate is not mandatory for existing residents switching jobs within the country.
UPDATE (April 2020): The new rule of requiring good-conduct certificates has been postponed until further notice, as confirmed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, effective April 1.

Mission Visa
Mission visa is a type of visa that enables individual to work for a company for up to 3 months continuously in UAE. To obtain a Mission Visa, a company should have no violations at the Ministry of Labour. The employee should not have any kind of labour ban or immigration ban.

House Maid Visa
If your salary is AED 8000 or above, you are eligible to employ a housemaid. Also, note that you must be married in order to sponsor a housemaid, you must be living with your family and you must not be related to the person you intend to hire as a housemaid.
Note that the maid’s nationality can only be India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Ethiopia.

Student residence visa UAE
Full-time college-level students at UAE colleges and universities can get UAE residence visa. This can be renewed annually. High school and grade school students are under the sponsorship of one of their parents.
