Horizon International School has announced outstanding GCSE results for its students, with targets being exceeded due to the exceptional performance of students across all GCSE subjects.
100% of students achieved a C (or grade 4) or above in English, Mathematics and Science. 69% of students achieved at least 5 A*-B grades and 38% of students achieved at least 4 A*-A grades. This is significantly higher than the UK National Average where the number of students achieving a C (or grade 4) or above in English Language is 70%, 71% in Maths and 55% in Science.
Commenting on this year’s results, Horizon International School’s Headteacher, Mr. Darren Gale says: “We are incredibly proud of our third cohort of GCSE students who have achieved record breaking results for our school. Progress and attainment is outstanding across all subjects and is significantly above UK National Averages with the majority achieving 100% pass grades. The progress our students make at Horizon International School is astonishing with students achieving 1.6 grades higher in English Language, 2.5 grades higher in English Literature and 1.8 grades higher in Mathematics than their CAT 4 generated target grades. On average across all students and all subjects, students achieved over 1 grade higher than their target. This is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff and students.

HIS students rose to the challenge of the new and more rigorous exams, where 100% of grades achieved were 4 or higher with 69% achieving grade 5 or higher

50% of our Drama GCSE students were awarded a grade 8 or above on the new, more challenging exam
100% of students who sat French, along with 67% of History students and 57% of Geography students achieved A*-A grades
100% of students who sat Spanish achieved A*-B grades
83% of students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL) achieved 7 or more A*-C grades, whilst 67% of our EAL students achieved 9 or more A*-C grades

Giovanni, the school’s new Head Boy, achieved 5 A*-A grades with an A* in Maths, two 7s in Science, A & B in English, A in ICT and a B in Art and Design
Aleezay, the school’s Deputy Head Girl, achieved A*, A in English, A in Maths, 6 in Science, A in History, 6 in Drama, B in Business Studies and C in Art & Design
Victor achieved the highest number of A*s with A*s in Maths, English, French and an 8 in drama
