Instructors - Korean language

Job Summary

University of Calgary Continuing Education is currently recruiting for instructors (contract (term) position) to teach Korean language courses in the upcoming semesters.

These instructional positions are non-credit teaching appointments and, as such, are contract positions without benefits (other than those required by Employment Standards).

Scope of Responsibilities (high level)

• Create effective lessons plans, develop content, learning activities, presentations, assignments, evaluations, examinations (where applicable).
• Utilize Desire2Learn for all course materials and student communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in education, linguistics, Korean language and literature, or related field is required.
• Previous experience teaching second languages is essential; post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
• Fluency in Korean and English is required.
• Adult Learning Certificate, Teaching Second Language Certificate, or equivalent is an asset.
• Previous experience utilizing Learning Management Systems such as Desire2Learn, Adobe Connect, Blackboard or Moodle, is beneficial.
