ICS was founded in 1990. It is a private K-12 coeducational day school offering a college preparatory curriculum to the local international community. ICS is part of the NICS school network. Our faculty are certified and qualified in their subject area with many having graduate degrees. This network is in 16 countries with 19 schools representing 100 nations with over 5,000 students. There are two other NICS schools in addition to ours in Korea – Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS) and Uijeongbu International Christian School. ICS can draw on its worldwide connections for staff and resources.
ICS wants to partner with parents and students who want to develop critical thinking skills. We value the worth of each individual and do not look at school as a factory but rather as a place of individual discovery and purpose. We encourage each student to reach their full potential (mind, body, and soul) in a warm, caring, and supportive environment. Our desire is for an ICS graduate to be able to go to any accredited university in the world, be a successful graduate, and then going on to be a positive force anywhere in the world.
The mission of ICS is to establish an international Christian school staffed by qualified Christian educators, instilling in each student a Biblical worldview in an environment of academic excellence and respect for people of all cultures and religions.
The goal of the International Christian School Admissions Office is to help make the transition to school and Korea an easy one for international families moving to Pyeongtaek. We are here to help you with any questions that you may have about ICS-Pyeongtaek and help walk you through the admissions process. Admissions applications are available online within the Admission's Tab on the website. We do accept transfer students during the academic year as space permits; therefore, you may submit an application at any time during the school year.
There's something very powerful about being part of a family. In a family, you know that people will support you, care about you, and still love you when you make mistakes. In a family, you know that you have people you can count on. At ICS-P, In addition to being part of a grade-level classroom, all elementary students are also part of a family. At the beginning of each school year, five family groups are chosen by the elementary teachers. Each family includes students from Kindergarten through fifth grade, and each family has one of the elementary teachers as their family leader.
