International School Palermo is set in its own premises within the Gonzaga School in the city of Palermo. ISP is in harmony with the principles and values of Ignatian philosophy, its tradition of service to the city and the territory and its openness to new educational methods. A school where children, from an early age, will have an active role in the learning process and whose aims are towards the development of intellectual, personal and social skills of today’s students in order to become men and women of tomorrow. A school which educates the child to live in a multiethnic and multicultural world without frontiers.

International programmes taught mainly in English, innovative teaching methods, multi disciplinary programme, student centered approach to teaching and learning, encourage students to develop personal responsibility, encourage students to become citizens of the world.

Rich resources from all around the world enhance our international curriculum. Each classroom is equipped with an extensive class library, manipulatives and toys, plus Apple Mac computers and an interactive Smartboard. Our library is full of fiction and non fiction books organized by an electronic operating system. There is a gated children’s playground, a garden, two canteen, two coffee shops, one theatres, and parking facilities.

ISP has submitted the application for MPY accreditation. The MYP curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing a broad and balanced education for early adolescents. The MYP programme is a natural extension of the PYP and engages learners in an active display of their learner profiles. Students engage in topics with their inquiry mind and delve into topics through a rich and diverse perspective. The MYP program will run over three years: M1, M2 and M3 (G7, G8 and G9).

Within ISP we will tailor our education to offer students both the Italian Terza Media examinations in M3 which run alongside the MYP curriculum. These two systems compliment each other to offer students a diverse and truly worldly educational system: MYP will be also the programme for M4 and M5, when ISP will have an its own High School.
