ISP Schools joins Dubai Cares’ ‘Students for Students’ initiative to support children’s education

Students and staff from five International Schools Partnership (ISP) campuses in Dubai – The Aquila School, The English College, Nibras International School, Star International School Al Twar, and Star International School Mirdif – have joined forces with Dubai Cares to support the education of children from low-income families in the UAE. Through a collective fundraising effort and volunteering activities, they have successfully packed 500 school kits filled with essential supplies to help students start the new academic year ready for success.

The ISP schools are among participating schools in the second edition of Dubai Cares’ ‘Students for Students’ initiative, a nationwide campaign that engages students across the UAE in giving back to their peers through fundraising and volunteering. The school kits include backpacks, notebooks, writing instruments, art supplies, and other essential items needed for a successful school year.

To support this initiative, the ISP schools organized a variety of student-led fundraising events, including bake sales, themed dress days, and awareness drives, to raise funds. The campaign culminated in a volunteering event at The Aquila School, where 150 student volunteers packed all 500 kits with care and compassion.

The packed kits will be distributed by Dubai Cares to students in charity schools and community centers across the UAE ahead of the 2025-2026 academic year, ensuring that vulnerable children are equipped with the tools they need to learn and thrive.

Kam Bhamra, Regional Managing Director, ISP – Middle East said: “It is an honour to join forces with Dubai Cares for the ‘Students for Students’ initiative. This important endeavour, which resonates strongly with the UAE’s Year of Community and inculcates the values of giving, is a valuable opportunity for our students to develop important life skills like leadership, empathy, and social responsibility. Their active participation in fundraising, organising and volunteering in activities will deepen our students’ understanding of the positive impact they can make on the local and global communities they are part of.”

Abdulla Al Shehhi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Cares, said: “At Dubai Cares, we believe that empowering young people to support one another is one of the most powerful ways to build a compassionate and inclusive society. The ‘Students for Students’ initiative exemplifies how students, when given the opportunity, can become champions of change within their own communities. We are proud to have ISP Schools onboard for this important initiative, and we are inspired by the spirit of leadership, generosity, and empathy that their students have demonstrated. Together, we are not only providing essential school supplies but also nurturing a culture of giving that will shape the future of our nation.”

All students who participated in the initiative will be awarded official certificates of recognition issued by Dubai Cares. Each ISP school will also receive a plaque in appreciation of their contribution to the campaign.

Last year’s inaugural edition of the ‘Students for Students’ initiative mobilised students from 14 schools who collectively raised AED 720,000 and packed 9,000 school kits. The initiative highlights the power of youth-led community action in addressing educational inequalities and continues to grow in reach and impact.
