At Kells Academy, we understand that each student is unique with experiences, interests and cultural lifestyles that are all their own. Since we first opened our doors in 1978, we have recognized that a one-size-fits-all approach to learning does not work. Our challenge is to understand these differences and provide an innovative environment that celebrates uniqueness while offering a diversity of learning approaches, ensuring our students a learning experience that is rich and meaningful.
At Kells, flexibility is key. It's also what distinguishes us from other schools. The curriculum provides the structure, yet its implementation is adaptable. We develop individualized programs, allowing students to work within their comfort zone, which may be above, below, or at grade level.
A Kells student becomes a confident student, secure in knowing that their school is always one step ahead of the changing world we live in. We succeed in the classroom and online with our e-Kells distance learning division. We are ready to teach and learn in all ways. A Kells student is proud to be part of our community of leaders, educators, and parents who are all working together to create an extraordinary school experience.
We strive to create and maintain a sense of community that helps students feel included and gives them the opportunity to grow in confidence as well as make friends. Kells students are invited to participate in our student council, various clubs and interest groups, and sports teams. We organize day field trips, overnight visits, and a wide range of extracurricular activities throughout the year.
At each grade, two or three programs are offered allowing students to learn within their own competency level. Programs promote an understanding and appreciation not only of the language, but of the cultural values of the society in which we live. Students may also elect to study other subjects in French, further enriching the experience. Our French program conveys linguistic concepts while promoting an understanding and appreciation of the cultural values of the society in which we live.
