Students at Kings’ School Al Barsha are today celebrating outstanding achievements in their GCSE results.
With over half of all exam entries awarded the top 9-7 grades, the cohort has achieved results way beyond international predictions. The students have also passed entry requirements for their A Level and BTEC choices, and now enter the Kings’ School Al Barsha Sixth Form with confidence in their learning skills.
Andrey, who achieved five grade 9s and five grade 8s, summed up the feelings of many of his peers: “Today I feel very grateful for the support that I received from my teachers at Kings’, which has been pivotal in helping me achieve the results I wanted. I am happy to know that the hard work and preparation that I did has paid off. As I move forward into Sixth Form and beyond, I anticipate embracing new opportunities and challenges.”
Fahya recorded seven grade 9s and three grade 8s. She told us: “I was promised the Lego Millennium Falcon if I got mostly 9s. I worked hard. I got the Millennium Falcon. I’m looking forward to studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry in Sixth Form and going on to study Physics, work for NASA and help to discover galaxies far, far away…”
Fellow Year 11 Sara was equally excited: “The day that I was dreading throughout the whole of summer quickly turned into a day of celebration upon getting my results of eight 9s and two 8s in my GCSEs. I am beyond happy that my hard work has paid off and I can finally relax a little. But not for long as A Levels are just round the corner!”
Commenting on the results, Headteacher, Paul Taylor, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students. They coped admirably with the pressures of their first public examination results and have been rewarded with grades significantly higher than we expected. The basic building blocks are now in place, and we expect our new Sixth Formers to thrive in all aspects of school life. I would like to pay testament to my colleagues who have taught and tutored this cohort through their time at Kings’ School Al Barsha.”
