Scholars International Academy is a thriving British Curriculum school, located in the heart of Sharjah’s educations sector. A Scholars International Group school; SIA offers a high caliber education to students aged 4 and above. The purpose of the assessment is to gain an understanding of the child’s stage of language development, knowledge, abilities and experience in relation to our academic programme.
Assessment is mandatory for all children seeking admission from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 13.
The admissions procedure is made up of 4 steps: a school tour/open mornings, online application, an assessment and registration. All steps need to be booked by appointment.
Step 1 – Online Q & A Sessions
Kindly contact us via email or telephone to book for an online Q & A session at Scholars International Academy. The Q & A sessions aims to provide an insight on the British Curriculum, our Education Philosophy, School facilities and our Engaging Learning Environment.
You will also be able to book an assessment for your child with our Admissions Manager – Dima Chahoud.
Step 2 – Online Application
Submit an online application form for your child. Our admissions team will contact you within 24 to 48 hours to schedule an assessment for your child.
Step 3 – Student Assessment (Mandatory)
Kindly note that the non-refundable assessment fees of AED 200 is payable online.
Tuesdays and Thursdays - 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm for children going into FS 1 to Year 1 (on-site assessments)
Mondays to Thursdays - 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays - 8:00 am to 1:00 pm for children going into Year 2 - Year 13 (on-site assessments)
Bookings are required.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no preparation required for the Admissions Test and it is not the only deciding factor as to whether a seat is offered. This is not an exam but merely a guide for us to identify each student’s capabilities and to allow the admissions team to make the most informed decisions regarding placement for your student, the class and class teacher.
You will be contacted within 24 hours from the date of the assessment. If your child is offered a seat at SIA, you will be asked to proceed with registration.
For entry into Years 1 to 13, successful completion of the assessment and review of school documents and for Years 10-13 the same is followed by an interview with the Principal or Head of Secondary regarding subject selection.
Step 4 – Registration
Sunday to Thursday – Online – 8:00am till 3:00pm
Saturday – Online – 8:00am till 11:00am.
You will be asked to complete paperwork, provide photos and copies of documentation and pay the non – refundable Admission Fee per student.
Joining information will be given to you at the time of registration.
Completion of registration guarantees your child a seat at SIA.
The following documents are required to complete registration:
If a local school transfer:
Original Ministry attested transfer certificate from previous school.
If a local school transfer from Dubai and Abu Dhabi:
Original Ministry attested transfer certificate from the previous school and a KHDA equivalence certificate.
If you are transferring from a school abroad:
The latest school report card and the original transfer certificate which should mention that the student has passed and been promoted to the next grade.
