MAS welcomes all students of all abilities, nationalities and religions who are likely to benefit from our academic program and focus on personal and social development. We are proud of our visible commitment to special needs students.
Applications for admission are accepted at all times during the school year. Applications are completed in person or the application form can be completed online. If there are no seats available then the application is placed onto the school’s waiting list.
By December 31:
All applications from K1 onwards will be expected to demonstrate an acceptable level of fluency in English to be eligible for admission. During the intake process, should language proficiency appear to be an issue, the applicant will be given recommendations and the opportunity to return for a reassessment of language growth after an agreed upon amount of time.
MAS understands that some students will not be able to demonstrate a grade-level mastery of the English language. An assessment of the applicants’ level of fluency in English may result in recommendations for the applicant to partake in intensive external language proficiency programs to be eligible for reassessment and admission or the applicant may be enrolled in the school’s EAL program.
MAS is fully inclusive to learners of all needs and abilities; however the school reserves the right to offer conditional acceptance requesting full cooperation and transparency from parents. Any previous medical assessments are requested at the time of admission, though admission will never be conditional upon formal medical diagnosis. In accordance with the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework students are never refused admission solely on their experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). In order to ensure MAS has all the resources and family support necessary to promote the success of all learners, each child will be considered on a case by case basis in order to determine if the school has the appropriate resources and staff to best meet the needs of the student. Additional support may be deemed necessary in order to help the student access the curriculum which will be a supplementary charge. Planning for additional support will be discussed in-depth with the parents in order to develop individual learning goals. MAS reserves the right to limit the number of students receiving the highest level of support (SEND Tier 3) to one student per class in order to promote equity of teacher time and allow for maximum access to the curriculum for all learners. Students who experience SEND will receive sibling priority in accordance with KHDA
