Application and Required Documents

Application to DBS is available online only: https://www.dbs.edu.kw/registrationForm

A digital copy of the following documents is required when you submit your application (Please upload clear and readable attachments):

  • One recent passport size photograph
  • Student’s Birth Certificate
  • Student’s Passport
  • Student’s Civil ID (Both Sides)
  • Father’s Civil ID (Both Sides)
  • Father’s Passport
  • Father’s Nationality (Kuwaiti Only)
  • Mother’s Civil ID (Both Sides)
  • Behavior/attendance reports from the current school
  • Copies of the Report Cards / Transcripts
  • Pre-KG: A Report Card is not required
  • Grades 2 to 12, the End of Year Report Card for the last 2 year is required
  • Grades 9 to 12: A transcript is required
  • In addition to the above, a digital copy of the following documents is required for students applying to the Special Education classes:
  • Medical/Psychological Report
  • Disability Certificate from the Public Authority of the Disabled
  • Educational Committee Decision at the Public Authority of the Disabled

Assessment

  • Upon completion of the basic requirements, an assessment date will be scheduled, and the parents will be notified by email.
  • Assessments are conducted as follows:
  • Pre-KG, KG1, and KG1: An interview with KG Academic Staff member. Students MUST be toilet trained.
  • Grades 1 to 12: All applicants shall be assessed in English, Arabic and Math skills relevant to the grade level that they are applying to.
  • Special Needs and Vocational: A psychological assessment with the school psychologist will be scheduled, and a class observation for a period of 3 to 5 days might be required.
  • A maximum of ONE re-assessment is allowed: Upon parent’s request and the Superintendent’s approval. A re-assessment fee will be applied.

Admission Decision

  • The registration office will notify the parents of assessment results by email and phone call. Parents of grades 1-12 students will receive the assessment results within 2-3 days of the student’s assessment. Parents of KG students will be notified of admission status one day after the interview.
  • A Class Observation might be required and scheduled. The registration office will notify the parents.
  • The school will not accept students who display limited mobility, limited language skills and severe behavior difficulties.
  • Students may be denied admission should there be behavioral concerns or a display of low English proficiency.
  • The acceptance decision for the SEN students depends on the severity of the special case. DBS accepts only mild to moderate special cases.

After Acceptance

  • An acceptance letter is issued in the event of a successful application.
  • A non-refundable deposit of KD 100 is to be paid to secure enrollment at DBS within two days of acceptance notification. The registration fee is credited to your first applicable fee invoice.
  • The transferring documents from previous school must be submitted to DBS Registrar’s Office after receiving the DBS Acceptance call.
  • A student file should be completed before the first day of school, as it is a requirement stated by the Ministry of Education.
