For over a century, SPCC has been providing quality education for a socially diverse student body. Students are admitted by merit and potential regardless of their family or social backgrounds. The school is committed to a need-blind admission policy with a quota-free fee remission scheme to ensure that SPCC will not turn into a school only for those who can afford to pay the tuition. In addition to remission of the tuition fee, the school has committed itself to offering financial aid to students with financial needs to ensure adequate support for their school life and learning opportunities at SPCC.

Admission Schemes for Students with Financial Needs

Both our primary and secondary schools have set aside a number of places for students with financial needs to apply for admission through the Kindergarten / School Nomination Scheme (please refer to the relevant Notes to Applicants). Successful applicants will enjoy a 100% waiver of the tuition fee as well as a comprehensive range of financial aid and bursary.

F1 Admissions

Applications must be submitted through our eAdmissions system. Late applications will not be accepted.

Application

  • About 100 Form 1 places available for application.
  • Application through our eAdmissions system starts on 2 November (9:00am). Deadline for submission is 20 November  (4:00pm).

Admission Schemes

A variety of admission schemes are in place for the financially needy, academically outstanding students and special talents.

  • Financially Needy Students
    • A number of places are set aside for needy students to apply for admission through the School Nomination Scheme (FN).
    • Successful applicants will enjoy a 100% waiver of the tuition fee as well as a comprehensive range of financial aid and bursary.
  • Academically Outstanding Students
    • Outstanding students may apply through the School Nomination Scheme (OS).
  • Young Talents
    • Students will be given preference if they achieve national / regional junior level in their talented areas: Music, Sports, or Others.For details, please refer to the Notes to Applicants.

Scholarships

A variety of scholarships are available to recognize academic excellence as well as talents such as music and sports.

Fee Remission and Financial Aid

Our Fee Remission Scheme is quota free and among the most generous in town. Bursary and financial aid are also readily available to the financially needy.

F2-F5 Admissions

Interested students may apply through “Rolling Admission” or “End-of-term Application”. The former is open throughout the school year and the latter usually in May each year.

Rolling Admission

  • Application is open to F2 to F4 students throughout the school year.
  • Should vacancies arise, SELECTED applicants will be notified to sit a written examination. Please also refer to the "Exams and Interviews" section below.
  • Application documents will be retained for one year and applicants do not need to submit applications again in the same year. However, should the applicant wish to apply for the next school year, the applicant will need to submit again through "End-of-term Application".

    • One self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage and with student name and admission class written on it

Exam and Interview

  • SELECTED applicants will be notified in early July to sit the Chinese, English and Mathematics written examinations on 18 July (tentative).
  • All applicants of F3 and those of F4 and F5 intending to take electives in science will also take a Science paper.
  • SHORTLISTED applicants will be invited to attend an interview.

Note to Applicants for Admission to F2 and F3

All students are required to take part in the self-funded F3 Summer Residential "Rites of Passage" Programme in Australia in the summer preceding F4.

Scholarships are available to SPCC students with excellent academic performance.Students ranking top 15% of the class level and receiving a conduct grade of B or above will be awarded Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

IBDP & F4 Preparatory Year

Application for Current Year

The F4 Preparatory Year is offered to students who are interested in following the IBDP in F5 and F6 at SPCC.

Admission to the Preparatory Year requires completion of F3 or its equivalence. Applicants need to have good academic potential.

P1 Admissions

  • Children born between 1 September of a year and 31 December of next year are eligible to apply. Parent / Guardian should read the “Notes to Applicants” before submitting the application.
  • Application through the online system starts on 14 September  (9:00 am). Deadline for submission is 18 September (4:00 pm).
  • Fee Remission Scheme is quota free and among the most generous in town.
  • A Kindergarten Nomination Scheme is available with the objective of providing equal opportunities for students with exceptional promise regardless of financial need.
