Hamilton Hill International Kindergarten

Applications submitted before the submission dates above will receive no advantage or priority. All applications will be processed after the end of the application submission period. Places will be offered first to applications received during the application submission period. Applications for KG 1 received after the listed dates above will be allocated a place on the waiting list in accordance with their priority and date of application.

Applications for KG 1 or for KG 2 outside the admissions period, may be made at any time. Places are limited, but may become available during the academic year. If no place is immediately available your child’s application will be added to our waitlist in accordance with their priority and date of application.

Admission Requirements

Hamilton Hill’s admissions process ensures students are placed in the appropriate grade level to meet their learning needs.

Students are assessed prior to commencement to ensure they have the required understand of the English Language as well as the maturity to begin their education. Most importantly we also need to ensure that we have the required skills and support to cater to their needs. This simple assessment is done through observation of play and interaction with other children and our specialist teachers.

It is our policy not to discriminate with any potential pupil because of race, creed, or ethnic background. We also consider as important that the parents of our potential students should not be judged similarly inappropriately.

Hamilton Hill admits applicants and parents who support our mission statement and principles of the international curriculum we follow. Furthermore, the school seeks to admit applicants who will benefit from an inquiry-based conceptual program, which is in place to prepare them for renowned Primary-aged programs such as the International Baccalaureate. We encourage parental support for children in the educational programs offered by us.

The majority of children complete two years in Hamilton Hill International Kindergarten. We encourage you to enroll your child for the full two years of kindergarten so they can enjoy all the benefits of the program.

How to Apply

Application Procedures

• Submit a completed application form
• The following documents must be submitted before an application will be considered:
  • One (1) passport-size photograph
  • Photocopy of applicant’s birth certificate, passport, and HKID, if available (passport copy must show date of birth and a valid Hong Kong visa status)
  • For details of application fee(s), please refer to our fee structure schedule.
  • Application fees are non-refundable/non-transferable.
  • A Student Reference Form may be required.
  • Assessment will take place at Hamilton Hill and notification will be sent regarding details of the assessment.
• Application can be submitted any time. Working through the list, parents and children are invited for a visit where the staff will meet and observe the children and talk with the parents. Parents can hear about the curriculum, view the premises and decide whether they wish to proceed with the application. The purpose of the visit is to determine whether the kindergarten is an appropriate setting for the child.
• Offers of places will be made after the visits and will continue to be made until all places are filled. Some parents and children may not be invited for a kindergarten visit in the event that places have been filled.

If a place becomes available at a later date, parents and children on the waiting list may be invited to visit the kindergarten.

Successful applicants will be issued with a confirmation after the visit.
