Years 8 – 11

We do not have any places available for In-Year entry in Years 8-11 for the current year. If you would like to add your daughter’s name to our Continued Interest Waiting List please email admissions@st-michaels.barnet.sch.uk . If a place becomes available in your daughter’s year group you will be contacted and invited to apply. Entrance tests are not required to join the waiting list. Entrance tests will only be held for eligible applicants if an in-year place is available.

You are recommended to familiarise yourself with our Admissions Policy, which can be found below. Historically we are oversubscribed with applicants to sit entrance tests and apply our oversubscription criteria to applications for in-year places.

Year 7

The waiting list for Year 7 entry up to 31 December comprises of the girls who sat the entrance tests and requested a place in the secondary transfer admissions process but did not gain a place. This list will remain in place until 31 December 31 December and we cannot add any new names to the waiting list until after this date. From January a Continued Interest Waiting List will be put in place and new names can be added. Parents who wish to transfer their daughter’s name from the Year 7 waiting list to the Continued Interest Waiting List should email the request to admissions@st-michaels.barnet.sch.uk after 31 December.

The School Office will be closed from Monday 3 to Friday 14 April, Monday 1 May, Monday 8 May and Monday 29 May to Friday 2 June. Admission Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority. All appeals will be heard online which has the advantage that your appeal can be heard from your home or place of work.

If you wish to appeal, please  complete your appeal online. Please do NOT use ANY other appeal form or send your form to your local authority. It is suggested that you download the explanatory booklet about appeals which you should read before you complete the appeal

You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal form. Your appeal form will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal. You may appeal for more than one school, but on different forms.

Any letters or reports that you wish the panel to see should be uploaded at this time. You are asked to bear in mind that if you later send additional information, the closing date is 5 working days before the STAGE 1 hearing. All appointed panels have agreed NOT to take any late letters or reports after the 5 working day deadline. This will be strictly enforced. For secondary/primary transfer appeals, the hearing will take place at least TWO months after the refusal letter. This gives you plenty of time to get your evidence together if you act early and take account of school holidays.

Please note that the online form will ask you to download two utility bills dated in the last THREE months. If you do not have access to a scanner, please take two photographs with a mobile phone and upload the photographic files.
