Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School has one main admission date at the start of the Autumn Term (September) each year. The Local Academy Committee is responsible for admissions into the school. Should there be more applications than places available the Governors will follow the admissions criteria set out below. Parents are required to apply for a place in the Reception Class during the Autumn Term of the year proceeding the September in which they anticipate their child to start school. Parents who wish their children to join the school at a time other than the annual autumn admission are also subject to the admission criteria set out in this document, should there be more children on the waiting list than places available. Prospective parents and pupils are welcome to visit the school by appointment made with the school office.
The Nursery at Holy Trinity CE Primary School has places for Part Time and Full Time children. Full Time sessions run from 9am -3.30pm. Part-time places are flexible and can be a mix of mornings and afternoons across part or all of the week. Morning sessions run from 9.00 am until 12.00 pm and afternoon sessions start at 12.30 pm and finish at 3.30pm. A school Breakfast Club is available for all children from 7.15am daily.
Parents should note that a place in the Reception class is not guaranteed for children in the Nursery. Parents will need to apply for a place in the Reception class via the Local Authority.
An induction meeting for entry into the Nursery class is held each Summer Term of the year of admission in order that pupils and parents can meet the class teacher and the Nursery Nurse. At this meeting, details of the staggered entry system into the Nursery year will be made available to parents.
Siblings will be given priority for In Year Admissions after ‘Looked after Children’ (LAC) and ‘Previously Looked after Children’ (PLAC) . If a place is available and there is no waiting list then the school will communicate the governors’ offer of a place to the family. If more applications are received than there are places available, then applications will be ranked by the Local Academy Committee in accordance with the oversubscription criteria. Applications for in year admissions should be made to the school using the in year Admissions form available on the website.
If a place cannot be offered at this time, parents may request the reason and will be informed of their right of appeal. Waiting lists for all year groups will be maintained until the end of the academic year for which admission has been sought. Parents wishing their child to remain on the waiting list beyond that date will need to put their request in writing to the school. Vacancies will be filled in accordance with the over-subscription criteria. If a child is subsequently added to the waiting list, the waiting list will be ranked again in line with the over- subscription criteria.
