How to Apply

We are delighted you are interested in joining our Oakfield family and we can't wait to welcome you and your child through our red gates for the first time. As a first step please complete the online application form.

Once registered and a £70 registration fee has been paid then our Deputy Business Manager, Rachel will be in touch with you to arrange for your child to come into the school for an Assessment. The registration fee is non-refundable.

This is an opportunity for us to assess his/her readiness to settle and flourish within our school environment and our academic pace. It also gives the chance for your child to get to know the school site as well as meet some of their peers and make their first friends at Oakfield.

Nursery and Lower Foundation Intake

We invite 2 and 3 year olds to a short, informal observation at Oakfield so we are happy they will be ready to flourish in our Nursery or Lower Foundation year groups. These observations take place on an ad-hoc basis through the Autumn Term.

If you have any further questions please complete our online enquiry form. Please note that we reserve the right to alter our admissions arrangements or criteria at any time.

Prep Intake (year 2 to Year 6)

Oakfield Prep is a non-selective school. However, children applying for places in Years 2 to 6 will be invited to spend a Discovery Day in school which will include sitting a Maths and English assessment as well as spending time engaged in classroom activities. This is so we can gauge their ability and ensure that our environment is right for them. These sessions are held throughout the Autumn Term.

After the Discovery Day we aim to let you know as soon as possible whether we can offer your child a place. Any formal offer will be held for 14 days and is accepted with payment of a deposit. This deposit is non-refundable if your child does not start at the school. The deposit amount is offset against the pupil’s fees for their last term at Oakfield.

If we have more successful applicants than places for any age group then a Waiting List system will operate. If you have any further questions, please complete our online enquiry form.
