The staff, governing body and pupils of Avenue Primary School would welcome you applying for a place at our school. To do this you must follow the correct process for your child’s age as detailed below.
We are a school maintained by the London Borough of Newham which means they are the admission authority for this school. If you would like to apply for a place in our school from Reception to Year 6, applications must be made through London Borough of Newham’s Pupil Services, not this school. To apply for a nursery place, please contact the school directly.
Admissions to Nursery are handled by the school directly in accordance to guidance from London Borough of Newham. Children are taken into the Nursery from the age of 3 years old. The usual point of entry is at the beginning of the academic year in September. If places become available, then entry may be possible throughout the year.
Application forms are available on the link below. Please note that you can apply up to a year in advance. If you do this, please do keep us informed of any change of address or contact details – including if you move out of the area and will therefore no longer need the place.
We are going to school prospectus.
Before submitting a Reception application we strongly recommend all families read the ‘We are going to School’ guide and find out information about the school you are interested in.

This means if a family live in Newham they must apply through Newham Council even if their child attends a junior or primary school outside of Newham or they only want to apply for secondary school in another borough. Since 2004, the 33 London boroughs and some of the Home Counties work together to make the application process easier for parents. The Pan London coordinated scheme scheme will be available soon.
Remember, parents/carers must apply for a place, even if
The law does not allow us to reserve secondary school places.
Before submitting a year 7 application we strongly recommend all families read the Autumn edition of the local authorities ‘We are moving to Secondary School’ guide and find out information about the school you are interested in. If possible look at their virtual tours.
