Entry at 11+ into Year 7 is on the basis of performance in entrance tests and at interview.
It’s important to note that our entrance processes aren’t designed to make Bancroft’s more academically selective; instead, they serve as a tool to identify children who we believe will thrive and make the most of the exceptional education we provide.
With a high demand for places, we often receive more applications than we have available spots. In some cases, candidates may find themselves on a waiting list after the examination and interview. Should vacancies arise, we will extend offers to our waiting list as soon as possible.
Entrance tests take place in the January before admission. Our entrance tests for September entry at 11+ (into Year 7) will be held on Tuesday 9 January. Children sit three papers: an online reasoning test; a short English paper and a short maths test.

Beyond the classroom, students have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of co-curricular activities and leadership roles, fostering not only exceptional academic results but also exceptional interpersonal skills.
