Wanstead High School

If you live in Redbridge you must apply for a secondary school place through the London Borough of Redbridge. If you are not a Redbridge resident then you will need to apply via your own local Council. Redbridge applicants – Apply for a place via London Borough of Redbridge.

What happens after you have applied

The Local Authority will send you an email advising of the outcome of your application on the evening of 1st March.

You must respond to this offer by 13th March by logging into your eAdmissions account or via email admissionsandawards@redbridge.gov.uk with your child's reference number and the name of the school you are accepting.

At the beginning of May the school will write to confirm that your child has a place at Wanstead High School and will ask you to complete and return the Intake Pack.

Your child will be invited to a Transition Day on Thursday 2nd July. The aim of Transition Day is to help students make their move from primary to second­ary school as easy and enjoyable as possible. This experience will give them a taste of secondary school life at Wanstead High School. They will have the opportunity to undertake lessons and find their way around our school which is a much bigger place than they are used to.

A letter will also be sent home inviting parents to attend the Parents’ Transition Evening on Thursday 2nd July from 6:00pm – 7:00pm where you will be able to meet teachers and view a selection of our school uniform.

Music Tuition

If your child would like to take advantage of music tuition provided by the Redbridge Music Service during the school day please complete the application form. Please print off the form, sign and date and then send by post to Mr Sweet, address as on application form.
