Barrow Hedges Primary School intend to admit 90 children into Reception each academic year (depending on need and applications received) 52 children into nursery - 20 morning places, 20 afternoon places and 12 all day places for those children entitled to the extended 30 hour provision.
We welcome visits to our academy before application and in normal circumstances hold sessions on a regular basis during the autumn term where small groups of parents/carers may visit the academy for a tour and have the opportunity to ask questions. These sessions are usually conducted by a senior member of staff.

Admission to Reception for Entry September
Barrow Hedges Primary is a member of Cirrus Primary Trust who are their own admission authority. However, under the Pan London Agreement all admissions are coordinated by the Local Authority. Our published admission number (PAN) is 90. Where the number of applications exceeds the number of available places, our over-subscription criteria is applied; please refer to the admissions arrangements below for further information.
Applications for Reception places for children who will be four years old by 1st September 2024 (born between 01.09.2019 and 31.08.2020) should be made online through the Sutton Council website; the closing date for applications is 15th January 2024. All appeals for Barrow Hedges Primary for Reception entry September 2024 must be received by Friday 17th May 2024.

Barrow Hedges Primary School intends to admit 52 children into Nursery in September 2024 offering both the 15 and 30 hour provision Monday to Friday. In-Year Applications
Please to make an in-year application for this academic year. This is for children who will turn 3 by 31st March. Once your application is received your child will be added to the waiting list and you will be contacted if/when a place becomes available. Please note that applications are ranked in accordance with our admissions criteria below.
If your child will still be eligible for a place in September a separate application should be made (below) to be considered for a place at that time; applications do not carry forward to the next academic year.
Admission Arrangements for Entry for September
The arrangements for entry from September 2021 were determined by the Trust on 27th February and again on 23rd June (please see below).
Please to make an application for entry in September. The closing date for applications is 15th January . You may still apply after this date but your application will be treated as a 'late application' and will be ranked in accordance with the admission arrangements below; we do not operate a first come, first served system.
We will notify you within a week of the closing date for applications to confirm receipt. Decision letters for children who are eligible to attend nursery in September 2024 will be sent by e-mail on Friday 19th April. Children who are not offered a place due to over-subscription criteria will also be notified on this date and will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with admission arrangements.
Children who are not eligible to start until either January or April will be able to apply for an in-year place from September.
