Year 7 Admissions

As a Grammar School, our entrance processes will be slightly different and start earlier in your child’s education. All students looking to join us for Year 7 need to be registered for and undertake the Selective Eligibility Test (SET). The SET registration normally opens in May, when your child is in year 5. Those who pass the SET then need to sit and pass both parts of the Nonsuch & Wallington Second Stage Entrance Examination (NWSSEE) in order to be eligible for a place. The SET and NWSSEE normally take place in September/October, when your child is in year 6.

Our entrance test is broadly based on the KS2 curriculum and we do not consider it to be necessary for children to be tutored in order to gain access to the entrance test. We never allow 11+ tutoring companies in our schools. Please select the correct year of entry below for more information regarding Year 7 entry.

Wallington High School for Girls annual Open Day occurs in late June/early July each year and gives prospective students and families the opportunity to view the school, meet our current staff and students whilst also discovering more about our ethos and curriculum.

The Open Day for is scheduled for Thursday 4th July. Please note this event last year was ticketed. More information will be published closer to this event.

Mid Term Admissions - Years 8 - 11

Admissions will only be considered when there is a vacancy in the relevant Year Group. Only candidates who were deemed to be of selective ability in the Entrance Test for a place in Year 7, or who are new applicants, will be eligible to be tested.

If you would like your child to be added to the waiting list, you will need to complete an 'In-Year Admission' application form on the London Borough of Sutton website via the link below.

In-year admissions and vacancy checker - Sutton Council

In the event of a place becoming available, all students on the relevant waiting list will be invited in to sit tests in English and Maths appropriate to their age group. Candidates who pass both tests will be considered to be of selective ability. Candidates who fail to meet the pass mark in any of the tests will not be able to resit the test at any point in the future and will only be eligible to join the School in the Sixth Form. Parent/carers have the right of appeal if a place is not offered.

In the event of there being more selective candidates than vacancies, places will be allocated according to the criteria described in the School's admission policy.

Sixth Form Admissions

Information regarding sixth form admissions is available by clicking on Curriculum, Sixth Form and then admissions or by clicking here

In recent years, over 85% of our current Year 11 students opt to continue their A Level education with us, a factor we feel reflects the sense of belonging we encourage in the students and the quality of teaching we provide. Each year we also have between 50 and 70 new students joining our school community who make a valued contribution to the school and attain highly in their A Levels.

Places for the Sixth Form are in demand and new students are admitted inline with our Admissions Policy and on their actual GCSE grades. We do not make offers based on predicted grades to ensure that no student is disadvantaged by the predictions their school may award.

Our Sixth Form open evening for Sept entry will be held on Thursday 19th October . The Sixth Form applications will open after this event.
