Admission Arrangements

In Carleton House our aim is to provide each and every child with an excellent academic education in a caring and supportive environment where each child is nurtured and respected. We are a Catholic school, welcoming pupils from other faiths. Pupils and parents should support the religious ethos of the school. As a Catholic school we aim to work with parents to teach the moral values of the gospels alongside and in harmony with the Fundamental British Values.

We strive to develop a respect for all other growing from honesty, truth and Christian love – ‘We live, love and learn with Jesus’. Our school is sympathetic to other faiths and pupils are encouraged to celebrate diversity. We follow the Liverpool Archdiocesan recommended, ‘Come and See’ religious education scheme which includes studies of other faiths.

Each November we open our doors and welcome prospective parents and children to visit us on our annual open morning. Our next open morning will be held on Saturday 11th November from 10am to 12noon. We also welcome visits throughout the year, which can be arranged via Mrs Rogers in our school office. All visiting parents are given a tour of the school by our children and will have the opportunity to meet with our Headteacher, Mrs Coleman.

We operate two distinct application processes for admission to Nursery and for admission to Reception and two separate forms should be completed and submitted. Admission into nursery does not guarantee admission into Reception.

Nursery Admissions

Children join our Nursery in the September after their third birthday. Nursery places are allocated in the Spring term for entry the following academic year.

We have a maximum class size of 24 pupils in our Nursery Class. Following receipt of a fully completed application form and registration fee your application will be confirmed and placed on our register of interest.

Parents are contacted prior to the allocation of places and are asked to reconfirm their wish to be considered for a place in nursery. You and your child will be invited for an informal interview with our Headteacher, Mrs Coleman and your child may be invited for a stay and play visit.
