Application Process

If you are a school leaver or an adult learner looking to further your education, we can help you 'Create Your Future'. We offer a wide range of courses to suit your interests, as well as being a diverse and inclusive campus that welcomes you regardless.

Once you have found your chosen course, you can submit an application via our website by clicking at the 'APPLY ONLINE' button on the top of the course page. You may need to complete an assessment to make sure you are studying at the right level further details will be made available to you.

If you are unsure of your course or career options, our highly commended Learner Services Team is on hand to offer you impartial careers, information, advice and guidance to help you to understand your options and take control of and make informed decisions in terms of your next steps, job and career change, training, and promotion.

Step 1: Apply
Once you have found your chosen course, you can submit your college application by clicking the Apply Online button. If you are still unsure about your options you can get in contact with the Leaner Services team who will provide you with impartial careers information, advice and guidance. Alternatively you can access the National Careers Service where you can explore careers, learn more about your current skills and review job profiles for sectors you are considering.

Step 2: Interview
You will have the opportunity to talk to the subject tutor, who will review your application and give you further information, advice and guidance. This will also be an opportunity for you to make sure that this is the right course for you and have all your questions answered.

You may need to complete an assessment to make sure you are studying at the right level further details will be made available to you.

Step 3: Offer
Following your phone interview, we will confirm whether you have a conditionally or unconditional offer.

  • Conditional: Waiting to achieve your grades by taking exams
  • Unconditional: You have achieved the grades and we have seen proof of them

NOTE: The College will review all your prior learning and skills you have already obtained.

Step 4: Enrol
Once you have accepted the offer, you can now begin to ‘Create Your Future’ with Waltham Forest College. Details will be shared on how to confirm your place and successfully enrol onto your course.

If you didn’t do as well as you hoped in your school exams - don't panic! We will work to offer you a more appropriate course, often leading to your first choice at a later date.
