Year 7 admissions

Harris Academy Battersea will admit 180 students each year. We have 180 places in Year 7 in September and welcome students of all abilities and from all backgrounds.

Applications for places will be made in accordance with local authority admission arrangements and will be made on the Common Application Form provided and administered by the local authority. The Academy will work to the common admissions timetable agreed by Wandsworth Council. Admissions must be made via Wandsworth Council only and not directly to Harris Academy Battersea. Your application must be received by 31 October .

The Local Authority notifies parents about successful applications to Secondary School on 1st March.

Student data collection form

To view and complete online the HABS Secondary Admissions Student Data Collection Form. The form is to be completed at the induction evening. Dates and times for the evening will be confirmed in the letter sent to parents/carers following the offer of a place at the academy.

In-year applications

The academy coordinates in-year admissions for students wishing to join the academy mid-year. Parents/guardians should apply directly to the academy. If you would like to make an in-year application, please click the link below to complete the form:https://forms.office.com/e/53gVXg9HZC

On receiving your application form, your child will be invited in for an interview and further information will be requested. Should there be no vacant positions available, your child will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with the oversubscription criteria found in the admissions policy.

Sixth Form admissions

If you wish to apply for a place in our sixth form, please complete the application form downloadable from our sixth form How to Apply page.

Sixth Form entry requirements for are

  • Grade 7 or high 'B' grades to study most A-Levels
  • Grade 5 or high 'C' grades to study most vocational subjects.

There are individual exceptions that vary by subject and should you be interested in applying to our academy then we would be more than happy to discuss these with you.

Secondary transfer appeals

All applicants will know the outcome of their application for a Secondary School Place on 1 March, National Offer Day.

Parent(s) wishing to appeal against the Academy’s decision on admissions, for any year group, should complete an appeal form (downloadable from the bottom of this page) stating the reason for the appeal, based on the published admissions criteria.

The closing date for lodging appeals is 4pm on 31 March.

All appeals received by 4pm on 31 March will be heard between end of A pril and June.

The appeals will be heard in private by an Independent Appeal Panel. Appeals may be made in English or the parents’/carers’ first language. Only one appeal per application is allowed. Appeals are conducted in person, and you may bring a friend.
