Admissions to the Bilingual Stream at Shaftesbury Park Primary School
Parents/carers who wish to apply for a place in the Shaftesbury Park Bilingual Stream must complete a supplementary information form as part of the admissions process.
Although there is no admissions requirement that children come from native speaking families, it is absolutely crucial that parents considering this option are committed to providing as many opportunities for their child to learn and use French outside school as possible for the entirety of their time at primary school.
Automatic Transfer
Please note that, whilst transfer from our Giraffe (2 year old) Class to our Zebra (3 year old) Class is automatic, this is not the case for transfers from Nursery to Reception.
All parents wishing their child to attend Shaftesbury Park from their Reception year onward must apply through Wandsworth Borough Council (see above).
Catchment Areas
There is no set catchment area for Shaftesbury Park. Priority is given according to the distance from the pupil’s permanent home address to the school allocation of places and as such changes dependent on the applications received for any particular year.
Oversubscription
If there is oversubscription within any criteria, priority is given according to the distance from the pupil’s permanent home address to the school.
Distance is measured by a straight line from the address point of the pupil’s house, as set by Ordnance Survey, to the main school gate. You can find out how far you are from the school on the Wandsworth Borough Council website.
