Enrolling your Child in Govan High School
A young person can be enrolled in the school at any time of the year. Enrolements in the LCR are the domain of Glasgow City Council and direct contact should be made with Education HQ. Contact details are given below. With regard to mainstream education Glasgow City Council regulations identify three broad groups of young people:
- Young people transferring from our associated primary schools (Copeland, Drumoyne, Elderpark, Greenfield and Hill’s Trust) transfer automatically to Govan High at the end of primary 7. All pupils in the associated primaries have automatic right of entry to Govan High School.
- Young people whose family move into the catchment area of Govan High require their parents/guardians to contact the school direct.
- Young people who live out with Govan High Schools catchment area. In this case a placing request is required. Parents/guardians should contact the school direct with their application form alternatively pick one up from the school office.
The administration of all enrolments is the responsibility of Formal Depute Head Andrew Masterson.
