Admissions Eligibility

Students are eligible for admission when the following criteria are met:

  • Parents agree to support the guiding statements, rules and regulations of the school as a part of their student’s acceptance into ISB.
  • Parents read and sign the ISB Admissions Terms and Conditions as a part of their student’s acceptance into ISB.
  • Students satisfy the regulations for entry, as stipulated by the Korean government and, if Korean, the Korean student population is not greater than 30% of school capacity.
  • Students live with at least one of the student’s parents or legal guardians recognized by the school.
  • Students meet ISB behavioural standards and are able to benefit from the educational programme offered at the school (their previous academic and behavioural history must indicate this).
  • Students with physical and/or intellectual learning disabilities may be admitted if, in the Head of School’s judgement, adequate provision and /or special programmes can be developed and implemented to adequately support the student. Costs for any special materials, supplies and/or additional instruction may be required and will be the responsibility of the parent. These costs are in addition to the regular tuition fees.
  • Students submit a health and vaccination record before admission can be permitted.
  • Students must submit copies of report cards and copies of any educational assessment reports before admission can be permitted.
  • Applicants who are siblings of currently enrolled students shall be moved to the top of the waiting list.
  • All tuition and fees must be paid by the designated due date.

The school reserves the right to refuse admission or revise their agreement for admission (including suspension or dismissal) after initial enrollment if:

  • Any documentation has been misrepresented or proves to be false.
  • Any relevant information has been withheld from the School.
  • The student cannot benefit from the educational programmes offered.
  • The student displays behaviour inconsistent with the ethos of the School

If there is any uncertainty as to eligibility for enrollment, please contact the school.

How to Apply

Step 01: Review the Application Checklist

Complete the Online Application and upload required documents

Please note that a non-refundable application fee (KRW 300,000 or USD 300) must be paid before the application can be submitted. It does not guarantee admission.

Step 02: Process and Review of Application

Admissions staff may contact you for more information, which may take some time. In some cases, students and parents are asked to connect with counselors or special education teachers to provide better insights on the learning needs of your child.

Step 03: Interview and Assessment

The interview with each school's Principal will be required for all applicants and the assessments for Math and Reading will be required for the applicants between Grade 3 and Grade 11.

Step 04: Acceptance

The acceptance will be made by the Principal or Head of School after reviewing all documents. For the new school year commencing in August, new students are generally not offered places until returning students have completed their re-enrollment process. Acceptance for new students will be offered before the end of April for foreign students and in May for Korean students.

Step 05: Payment

Upon offering an applicant a place in the school, an official letter confirming this offer will be sent to the family by email. If the family wishes to accept the offer, they must inform the school within 7 days. The invoice will be sent to parents after acceptance of the offer.

Step 06: Submit Additional Documents

Before the first day of school, additional documents are required. Failure to provide these will adversely affect the student’s initial few days.

Waiting List

Qualified applicants who are not accepted due to space availability are placed in our waiting list and will be considered once spaces become available. If a child is placed on the waiting list, it is the responsibility of the family to provide the ISB with updated academic records whenever they become available.
