Children are welcome to join us at any time during the school year and into any year group, space permitting. The enrolment period for the current school year remains open throughout the year. In general, the enrolment period for the following school year opens in October.
The Admission process is differentiated based on the age of the child. Please read the information below organized based on the age, the academic background and the English Language proficiency of the child and the school sections.
EARLY YEARS: AGES 2-5
1. APPLY ONLINE The first step in the admissions process is the completion of the online APPLY FORM. Please note that you will be asked to create a password to login. Students applying to Early Years will be admitted according to the availability of space. No previous knowledge of English is required. 2. VISIT THE SCHOOL Once you are registered, you can book your visit directly on the website or by contacting the school by phone. We recommend to visit the campus preferably between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. If you are not in Genoa, we can arrange a virtual call on Google Meet at your earliest convenience. You are welcome to bring your child to school. 3. COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION ONLINE Our Admissions Officer will send you a detailed pro forma and the instructions to complete the registration of your child online. 4. PLAYGROUP OPPORTUNITY The Playgroup is a great opportunity for our perspective Early Years students to start familiarising with our learning environment. Children will take part in games and activities under the supervision of our Pre-School teachers.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: AGES 6-10

Please upload the following documents:
School records or transcripts for the previous 2 school years, when available (it is not compulsory only for children entering Grade 1).
Any standardized test results (MAP, IOWA, WrAP, ERB, etc.) that have been completed by the student.
Documentation identifying specific learning needs, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs) if they exist.
The student’s Portfolio, when available.
You must request a letter of presentation from the current homeroom teacher of your child. Please note that the letter can be written in English or the native language and must be on the school of origin letterhead paper and sent from the school to info@isgenoa.it.
2. ENGLISH ASSESSMENT
ISG will conduct an assessment to determine the level of written and spoken English. The results of any previously taken standardized testing (MAP, IOWA, WrAP, ERB etc.) should also be submitted to the school. Students who require additional support with their English language skills will be enrolled in a modified programme with English as a Second Language (ESL) support.

2. ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
ISG requires students entering Grade 9 through 12 to demonstrate increasing levels of language proficiency:
Students with English levels below this may still be admitted to ISG, but will be expected to undertake an intensive English language course at an additional cost in order to reach the required level of language proficiency.
The student must submit a Language Proficiency Certificate. ISG is officially accepting the Duolinguo Test results, as well as other recognized certifications (TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, etc.). The student has the option to take the Duolingo test via the Duolingo English Test dashboard and get results in 48 hours, which can be sent directly to ISG by selecting “The International School in Genoa” in the sharing box.
