Education should be accessible and all community members should be able to benefit from high-quality education. Britus International School – Bahrain operates a fair and transparent admissions process, with applicants to the school being accepted without selection based upon academic achievement or potential, ethnicity, religion, gender or any other possible form of discrimination. BIS adheres to age appropriate admissions according to the Bahrain Ministry of Education regulations. All required documentation must be received before the child is accepted.
Britus International School – Bahrain’s admission, registration and placement of students policy takes into account all obligations as defined by the Bahrain Ministry of Education. It sets out the order of priority for the admission of students if there are more requests than places available
Bahraini children will be given priority over all other applicants when the school is oversubscribed and will not be placed on any waiting list. Additional effort is made to ensure Bahraini nationals are fully able to access the curriculum and benefit from the welcoming and supportive ethos of the school which is driven by its core values.
Student with Special Needs
Britus International School – Bahrain aims to support all our learners to achieve their true potential. We will do this by providing additional support or resources for identified learners who may not have reached their expected levels of progress within a given Grade level.
Britus International School – Bahrain is currently unable to offer places to students with high level special educational needs. Parents wishing to join the Britus family of schools are advised to seek support and guidance from Britus Education Special Education.
School Readliness Assessment
At the admissions stage, children are assessed on their readiness to start learning at Britus International School – Bahrain. As a US curriculum school that delivers programs of study in English (with the exception of our core Arabic and Islamic subjects), students are expected to have an understanding of English in line with the age expectation for a non-native speaker. We will provide support and resource materials for language development during lessons and for enrichment at home and would expect our parents to support their child wherever possible in developing both written and spoken English.
The readiness assessment will also provide us with key information in relation to your child;s ability to socialise with children and adults and the way they interact with their surroundings. Young learners will experience challenges but we are here to support that with your help.
A student seeking admission to a particular class must have passed the final examinations of the lower class immediately preceding the class to which admission is sought. A certificate to this effect obtained from the school last attended is to be submitted along with the duly filled in form of application.
