Admission Policy
The Admission Policy takes into consideration the following:
- Occupancy per class / maximum 26 students.
- Enrollment priority is given to siblings of students provided that applications are submitted within the announced registration dates.
- Acceptance of male students is conditioned by the enrollment of female siblings; same applies to re-registration.
- Acceptance of students to the learning support program is conditioned by the enrollment of other siblings.
- Satisfactory academic achievement level.
Admission Procedures
General:
The Admission Department receives applications throughout the year, but the processing of applications starts in March (for the following academic year) and in December (for the second semester of the current academic year).
Required Application Materials:
- Application Form: The application form should be filled out and signed by the parent/legal guardian and submitted with one passport sized photograph.
- A photocopy of the student's birth certificate and of the official family registration book.
- For international students, a photocopy of the student's passport and residency card, along with photocopies of the father/legal guardian's passport and residency card.
- A photocopy of the student's transcripts or report cards for the past two years, in addition to the year in progress if applicable.
- Assessment and diagnostic reports if the student is applying to the learning support program or if the school suspects the presence of a learning difficulty or a disability.
Admission Procedures:
After all aforementioned documents are received, the Admission Department
starts the admission procedures as per the following:
Kindergarten:
- An interview with the Head of Kindergarten.
Grades 1 – 4:
- An interview with the Head of Elementary school and the English Department Coordinator.
Grades 5 – 6:
- Written exams in Arabic Language and Math (in Arabic).
- An interview with the Head of Elementary school and the English Department Coordinator.
Grades 7 – 8:
- Written exams in Arabic Language, Math (in Arabic) and English Language.
- An interview with the Head of Middle school and the English Department Coordinator (if needed, depending on results of exam).
Grades 9-10:
- Written exams in Arabic and English Languages. Admission into the national program requires a good grade in the Arabic exam, and the international program requires a good grade in the English exam.
- Math exam in Arabic if applying to the national program and in English if applying to the international program.
- An interview with the Head of Middle school.
Grades 11- 12 (National Program):
- Application is first screened by the Admission Committee. Only suitable candidates move on to the next steps.
- Written exams in Arabic Language, Math (in Arabic) and English Language for students applying to 11th grade.
- An interview with the Head of the High-school.
Grades 11- 12 (IBDP):
- Application is first screened by the Admission Committee. Only suitable candidates move on to the next steps.
- Written exams in Arabic Language, Math (in English) and English Language for students applying to 11th grade.
- An interview with the Head of the High-school.
- Declaring subjects; an additional interview with the IB coordinator is needed in some cases.
