The German School in Hurghada is an international school of encounter.
Native German speaking children as well as children of all other nationalities are welcome at our school. For kindergarten and the first year of preschool, German language skills are not required; for subsequent grades, admission for non-native German speaking children is decided on an individual basis.
Parents who wish to enroll their children at the German School Hurghada (DSH) for the school year must submit the enrollment documents by e-mail to the school secretary’s office by June 8. Please send the last two report cards and a copy of the child’s passport to sec@deutsche-schule-hurghada.de.
We will then invite the children to take the entrance exam on June 15 and 16. On day one, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the written exams will take place. On day two, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., the oral exams will take place. The subjects tested are Mathematics, German and English. In addition, there will be an assessment for the subject Arabic (Egyptian students: written and oral exam; other nationalities: entrance interview).
Students will stay at the Culture Center (CC) on the DSH campus during the specified time and will be picked up for their exams. The results of the exams will be announced on June 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Parents may wait in the CC during this time.
Alternative dates for the entrance exams are August 22 and 23. For this date, parents should send registration documents to the school office secretary no later than August 15.
Participation in one of the two entrance exams (June or August) is mandatory for admission to the DSH.
