The Process
Families and prospective students may begin the application process for being admitted to Newark Academy at any time by completing an inquiry form. Here is a suggested timeline for prospective students and parents to follow throughout the year:
- Summer One Year Prior to Year of Desired Enrollment Date
- Explore the NA website and complete the inquiry form
- Register to attend an NA Admission Open House event
- September/October One Year Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Attend an NA Admission Open House
- Begin the Online Admission Form
- Register to take one of two standardized Entrance Assessments, either the ISEE or the SSAT
- Request two years of prior transcripts from current school
- November Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Complete the Online Admission Form and pay application fee
- Schedule prospective student interview
- Request fall semester grade report from current school
- Begin application for financial aid
- December Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Deadline: Online Admission Form, prior year transcripts and application fee due date
- Request three teacher recommendations from current school (1 language arts, 1 math, 1 teacher of choice) and a transcript of fall semester grades
- Schedule prospective student interview
- January Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Deadline: Complete financial aid application (FA applicants only)
- Deadline: All supporting documents for application including entrance assessment scores, school transcript and teacher recommendations
- Deadline: Prospective student interviews
- April Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Deadline: Deadline for families requesting financial aid to submit W2s and tax filing documents (FA applicants only)
- Accepted Students and Families Reception
- May Prior to Desired Enrollment Date
- Deadline: Signed enrollment contract and deposit submitted to Newark Academy
