Loomis Chaffee is a school where students welcome new challenges, push themselves to experience new things, and are taught and mentored by some of the best teachers in the country. Ours is a tight-knit community where individuality thrives; we encourage you to cultivate your own passions and talents knowing you'll be accepted and celebrated for who you are. More than anything we're a community that lives and learns with purpose. At Loomis you will develop the confidence to go out into the world, achieve your goals, and inspire the kind of positive change that makes life better for everyone.
At Loomis Chaffee we are committed to enrolling the most outstanding applicants and creating the best possible educational opportunities for them, regardless of their ability to pay. Operating as a tuition-free school until the late 1960s, Loomis has remained accessible for students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds due to our unwavering commitment to financial aid.
For the current year, Loomis awarded $10.5 million in financial aid to 33 percent of our student body. Financial aid is intended to make the cost of attending Loomis affordable. To that end, aid grants range from $1,000 up to the full cost of tuition, with the average grant covering 78 percent of tuition. We strongly encourage any family who feels they need financial assistance to apply for financial aid.
The school also hosts a financial aid lending library for textbooks and other supplies, which helps to reduce the cost of book purchases for all students on financial aid.
The application deadline for admission for fall has passed. However, we are still considering applications on a rolling basis as space becomes available. If you will be applying for financial aid, please contact our office directly to discuss availability before submitting an application.
