Application Process
We invite you to Connect with OES so we can inform you of Admissions events and important deadlines. The OES Admissions Team is here to answer questions and support you throughout the application process. Please don't hesitate to contact us.
The application deadline for the currrent school year has passed. Please contact the Admissions office (503-768-3115) to discuss your interest. We will begin accepting applications for the next school year in August. Thank you!
The dates, below, are for information only; they will be updated in August with actual deadlines for next year applications.
Lower School Application Due by January 21: Applicants to Pre-K–Grade 5
A Parent Tour is required for all parents new to the Lower School who have not toured previously. Sign up now!
- First Step: Submit Applicant Profile $75 non-refundable application fee
- Complete Supporting Documents:
- Parent Questionnaire By January 21
- Teacher Recommendation Send an online form to your child's current teacher. Completed form due by January 21.
- Official Transcripts (grade 2–5 applicants only) Request transcripts for current year plus two previous years. Transcripts must be sent directly from school by February 7.
- Schedule Student Visit and Testing:
After submitting Applicant Profile, sign-up in the Admissions Portal.
- Pre-K Visit Day: Friday, February 7th of current year
- K/P/1 Visit Day: Thursday, February 6th of current year
- Grade 2–5 Visits: December–February, full-day visit (8 a.m.–2 p.m.). Must be completed by February 14, the earlier the better!
- Grade 3–5 Testing: Saturday, January 25th of current year
- Flexible Tuition Application Due February 3
Middle School Application Due by January 30: Applicants to Grades 6–8
- First Step: Submit Applicant Profile $75 non-refundable application fee

- Teacher Recommendations We require two recommendations, preferably from current English and math teachers. If your child has the same teacher for both subjects, please ask another current academic teacher to complete the form. Completed forms due by January 30.
- Official Transcripts Request transcripts for current year plus two previous years. Transcripts must be sent directly from schools by February 7.
- Schedule Student Visit and Testing
- SSAT Register early to avoid late fees! The last test date to meet our deadline is February 8.
- Student Visit Schedule in the Admissions Portal after you submit your Applicant Profile.
- Parent Conversation Sign up in the Admissions Portal after you submit your Applicant Profile.
- Flexible Tuition Application Due February 3
Upper School Application Due by January 30: Applicants to Grades 9–12, Day and Domestic Boarding

- Schedule Admissions Tests:
Scores must be from tests taken after August 1st of current year. Allow up to 15 business days for scores to be received by OES.
- SSAT OES school code is 5572. The last test date to meet our deadline is February 8.
- TOEFL For non-native English speakers only. OES school code is 9615.
- Student Interview
- Campus Tour By February 14. If you are planning to visit our campus, please sign up for a tour in the Admissions Portal. Visiting students will be provided an in-person interview after the tour.
- Skype Interview By February 14. We realize that, due to geography, a campus visit is not an option for all applicants. Students who are unable to visit may sign up for a SKYPE interview through the Admissions Portal.
