Join Our Mailing List

The first step of the process is for parents to set up an online account through Ravenna Solutions (www.ravenna-hub.com). Once you have created your Ravenna account, search for Belmont Hill School in the School Directory and select “Explore.” This will activate you in our system, allowing us to schedule your interview, and inform you of upcoming events and deadlines.

IMPORTANT: When registering, please complete all student profile information in full and use only one Ravenna account per student/family.

Once our application goes live in September, we will notify our mailing list by email.

Schedule a Campus Tour and Admission Interview

All applicants are required to participate in a virtual tour and interview. During this call, applicants and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will have an opportunity to converse with an admission officer. We will begin scheduling interviews after our application is available.

Once our application is available, please select "Apply" to Belmont Hill School on Ravenna and submit the Pre-Interview Questionnaire. After we received the questionnaire, we will call you to schedule the interview.

Attend an upcoming virtual event

We will be hosting a series of virtual Admission Open Houses this fall and adding additional events in the coming months. Check our Admissions Calendar for details. While not required, these events offer opportunities to experience this dynamic community, interact with students, engage with faculty, and see what makes Belmont Hill special.

Register for the appropriate Entrance Exam (ISEE or SSAT)

• Applicants to 7th and 8th grades should take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). You can register for the ISEE online at www.iseetest.org, and designate Belmont Hill as a recipient of the official score report by entering our ISEE school code: 220120.
• Applicants to 9th, 10th, and 11th grades should take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). You can register for the SSAT online at www.ssat.org, and send the official score report directly to Belmont Hill School by using our SSAT school code: 1564. If you have taken the PSAT, SAT or ACT, you may submit those official score reports in place of the SSAT.
• IMPORTANT: We recommend taking the Entrance Exam no later than the first week of January to ensure that we receive the score report in time for the January 15 application deadline.

Complete Our Online Application Process

• Applications can be completed online through Ravenna (www.ravenna-hub.com) by the January 15 deadline.
• A completed application consists of a Pre-Interview Questionnaire (submitted prior to the interview), Parent Questionnaire, Candidate Questionnaire, School Report (including transcripts), Current English Teacher Recommendation, Current Math Teacher Recommendation, Personal Recommendation(s), and Entrance Exam Results.
  The $40 application fee is payable online, and fee waivers are available for those who qualify.
• Please contact the Office of Admission at 617-993-5220 to ask any questions and/or request a fee waiver.

International applications

Belmont Hill School accepts applications from students currently living outside of the United States. However, we are unable to issue I-20s to support student visas. We require at least one parent to be living in the Boston area with the student while he is attending our school. Although we offer Monday through Friday boarding to a small percentage of our students, we are not a traditional boarding school. Our students return to their families on the weekends and during school breaks.

The application process for students residing outside the United States is the same as the process for all other applicants.

All applicants must

• complete our online admission application through Ravenna Solutions.
• tour and interview with an admission counselor on our campus. (Exceptions granted only for extenuating circumstances).
• submit the online application which includes the required standardized test scores: ISEE or SSAT. (We do not accept the TOEFL or IELTS as a substitutions for these required exams. Also, Belmont Hill does not offer English as a Second Language or English Language Learning classes).
