We are excited to share the academic, social, cultural, and educational experiences that set an Indian Springs School education apart. The school is located 15 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama—a thriving city and innovation hub that is also home to world-class cultural institutions and a renowned restaurant scene—and it combines access to the best of metropolitan living with the beauty and security of a small-town setting. Located on more than 350 acres at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, Springs’ campus includes state-of-the-art learning and performing arts facilities, residential halls, athletic fields, a lake, an organic garden, and endless opportunities for learning and growing!
Inspired by our dedicated faculty and small class sizes, our students cultivate their individual passions while also helping shape our community as they engage daily in our ideal of Learning through Living. From doing groundbreaking research to earning perfect SAT scores, to winning state soccer championships, to performing with the school choir around the world, our students thrive in Indian Springs’ supportive environment because our programs nurture creativity, encourage excellence, and foster respect.
Admission to Indian Springs School is a rolling process, so we are still accepting applications for the 2020–2021 school year.
A complete admission application includes:.
Application (Completed online)
Our application includes both a Student Statement (to be completed by the student) and a Parent Statement (to be completed by parents). A $75 USD application fee must be submitted with the application. We also accept the SAO (Standard Application Online).
Teacher Recommendations (Completed online)
In addition to your application, you will need to have two current teacher recommendation forms sent to Indian Springs. Math and English recommendations are required. A third recommendation is optional. These recommendation forms are sent to your teachers via our online admission portal.
Standardized Testing
Because SSAT testing has been suspended, Indian Springs School will use the most recent standardized testing (typically Stanford, Iowa, or ERB) in lieu of the SSAT.
International students should contact the admission office to discuss testing requirements.
Transcript
For the school to properly review a candidate's application, we must have the latest official transcript from the candidate's current school. We prefer to see the student's mid-year grades. Most schools require parental permission to release an official transcript to Indian Springs.
Personal Interview
Once all application materials are received the admission office will schedule a virtual interview.
