Brooks School is spread out across 270 acres in North Andover, Massachusetts, 35 miles north of Boston. We provide a co-educational, college preparatory program for 345 students. Small classes allow students to work closely with teachers, fostering relationships that are at the core of the school’s mission: to provide the most meaningful educational experience our students will have in their lives.
Admission Process
- Complete the Inquiry Form: Please complete this online Inquiry Form to receive our viewbook. Once you have submitted this form, you may schedule your campus visit and interview.
- Campus Visit and Interview: Visiting the school is an important part of the application process. Please contact the Admission Office to make an appointment by calling (978) 725-6271/6272. Appointments are offered Monday through Saturday during the school year (see schedule below). Saturday campus interviews are reserved for out-of-state candidates only. It is in the interest of all applicants to visit, if possible, during the fall or winter prior to the year of expected enrollment.
- Apply Online: We welcome online applications from Gateway to Prep Schools or SSAT's Standard Application (SAO). Applications are due by January 15th of current year. As part of the admission process this year, we invite you to complete the Character Skills Snapshot, which is meant to complement more traditional cognitive assessments, such as the SSAT. This new online assessment tool is not a required component of the application, but it will provide us with a more complete picture of the applicant.
- Testing: Ninth, tenth and eleventh grade candidates should take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) in October, November, December or January. Our School code for SSAT is 1882. PSAT, SAT, and ACT results reported in the current academic year are acceptable for tenth and eleventh grade applicants. Candidates for whom English is a second language should take one of the following three tests: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) — our school code for TOEFL is 4442, IELTS or Duolingo, in addition to the SSAT. Please be sure to request, at the time the test is taken, that the test results be sent directly to Brooks School.
