We are delighted that you are considering Westminster School, one of the best small boarding schools in the country. When looking at New England schools, you have a range of options, but we believe that the opportunities that exist at Westminster are exceptional.

The unique and powerful combination of Grit and Grace, hallmarks of a Westminster education, make students successful here and later in life. It is why so many of our graduates are elected captains of college teams and presidents of collegiate organizations, why they become leaders in their professions and communities, and why they are respected and liked, wherever they go and whatever they do.

Westminster is a caring, close-knit community where everyone is known, and everyone can excel. We are a small school, but only in the size of our student body. The number and array of programs, activities and teams is noteworthy, and we firmly believe our size provides distinct and important advantages for our students as learners and leaders.

All students, boarding and day, become members of a diverse and talented group of dedicated and engaged students who are serious about their education, who have accomplished much already and who hold the promise of achieving so much more. Westminster is very selective. We seek students who want to grow and learn in a challenging and supportive environment. Students who are motivated to become their best selves both in and out of the classroom, taking advantage of the myriad of opportunities Westminster has to offer.

Opportunities abound:

  • In the classroom, with 23 Advanced Placement offerings and a host of honors classes and independent study options;
  • In athletics, with over 50 teams in 14 sports, every student can be on a team in every season;
  • In the arts, where all students can participate in the studio or on the stage; and
  • In co-curriculars, through which students develop passions, leadership skills, and friendships.

Our Financial Aid budget is $5.86 million, and support is provided to over one-third of our students. We are committed to making the Westminster experience available and attainable to all applicants.

We are delighted that you are interested in applying to Westminster School. In addition to success in your current classes, we are looking for students who demonstrate “Grit & Grace” and who embody our core values: community, character, balance and involvement.
