How to Apply

Inquire

At any time, you can fill out our online inquiry form to have a view book and application mailed to you. We will also send you invitations to our Virtual Morning Coffee and Tour days, and other special events throughout the year. You can request this information by calling the Office of Admissions at (203)752-2610 as well.

Apply

You can apply to Hamden Hall online! Please click on the link to the right of this page to access our application. If you prefer to complete the application by hand, you can do so and mail it to the Office of Admissions with a current picture of the applicant. Also, please do not forget to include the non-refundable $60 application fee.

Applicants to Grades 1-12 who apply by the initial January 15 deadline will have a decision sent by mail by February 22. All completed Early Childhood Program applications (PreSchool, PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten) will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee on a rolling basis. Applications for all grade levels that are received after this initial deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis, provided space is available. We also accept the SAO and Gateway applications.

Weber Scholarship

Weber Scholars are selected from our pool of applicants for grades 7-12 each year. Please visit the Weber Scholarship page for more information.

Tour Campus

We invite you to attend one of Hamden Hall’s Virtual Morning Coffee and Tour events. You will have the opportunity to meet, on zoom, to explore the Hamden Hall Experience. These generally fall on select Thursday mornings and offer multiple time slots. A list of Morning Coffee dates can be found on our Admissions Events Calendar. We also host private virtual tour opportunities as well.

Register for Testing

Register to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). Both organizations provide a variety of options for taking the exam, including an 'at home' option. If you take the ISEE or SSAT at a different test site, be sure to request that the results are sent to Hamden Hall. Our testing codes are: 070258 (ISEE) and 3655 (SSAT).

Financial Aid

Please visit the Affording Hamden Hall page to get more information about applying for financial aid. Financial aid can be applied for online at the SSS website starting November 1st. Financial aid applications must be completed by January 15th in order for the committee to make a decision by the beginning of March. A student’s application for admission must be complete before their application for financial aid will be considered. In order to be eligible for need-based financial aid, the SSS application must be completed during the admissions process.You will be informed of our admissions and financial aid decisions at the same time.
