SEM'S Lower School

Located in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, Wyoming Seminary Lower School, also known as Sem, is a warm and welcoming place where a life-long love of learning is continuously cultivated.

Wyoming Seminary is consistently ranked one of the best private elementary and best private middle schools in Pennsylvania and in the country because of our commitment to engaging toddler-8 academic programs.

Visit Us

As part of the admission process, students in grades pre-kindergarten through seventh grade must complete a visit to the Lower School. Preschool and Toddler age students must complete social observation time in the classroom (parents are requested to stay with their toddler/preschooler). Spending a day at the Lower School provides an opportunity for us to get to know your child and for your child to get to know us!

Schedule an Appointment

Contact us at (570) 718-6611 or e-mail LSadmission@wyomingseminary.org. All school visits should be scheduled at least 2 days in advance.

On Your Visitation Day

Please arrive at the Lower School at 8:15 a.m. on your scheduled visit day. Your child may dress comfortably—sneakers are fine, but we prefer that children do not wear denim. Your child will spend his or her day visiting within their current grade, as we prefer our visitors spend time with those in their peer group. We will pair your child with a buddy for the day who will take your child to classes, lunch, and introduce him or her to other students in the class.

Unless your child has specific dietary needs, he or she will be our guest for the day in the cafeteria. If your child does have specific dietary needs or allergies, we ask that you pack a lunch. Students visiting grades 1-4 should bring a small snack with them and are encouraged to bring a water bottle as well. Please note that pre-kindergarten visitors need to be picked up at 12 p.m. and will not participate in lunch.

In order to avoid congestion in the parking lot, specifically with our buses, we ask that you be prompt in picking up your child at 2:30 p.m.

On the day your child visits, parents are encouraged to take a tour of the Lower School with a member of the admission team. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the admission process, financial aid, curriculum, and activities offered at the Lower School.
