The Cambridge School of Weston has been at the forefront of educational innovation since our founding in 1886. Our progressive pedagogy is rooted in the student-centered philosophy of John Dewey, who advocated active, experiential learning within a curriculum designed to accommodate the interests of individual students. In his eyes—and ours—education is not simply the acquisition of content and proficiency. It’s also a way for students to develop and refine the skills required to become informed, engaged, and effective participants in a democratic society.
We believe that the world needs such citizens—individuals who not only have technical competence and skill, but who are also awake to their unique talents and who have developed ways to bring their distinctive skills and perspectives to what the world will ask of them.

The Cambridge School of Weston welcomes applications from bright, intellectually curious, motivated boarding and day students. We look for creative thinkers and bold learners who will be positive, contributing members of our diverse and close-knit community. While we encourage all applicants to apply by our January 15 deadline, applications will be considered after January 15, as space permits.

Due to COVID-19, we are conducting virtual admissions visits—including the required interview and a student-led video tour—for fall 2021. However, as long as public health conditions allow, we will also be offering the opportunity to visit campus for in-person, masked group tours, which must be reserved in advance. Please call the Admissions Office (781-642-8650) to schedule either your virtual admissions visit, or a group tour of campus.

The first step in the application process is to set up your online account with Ravenna, our web-based application system. Through Ravenna, you’ll be able to work on and save the different pieces of your application—detailed below—as well as email and/or download the school and recommendation forms.
Families applying for financial aid are required to submit their online Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) on or before February 1. The PFS should be completed and submitted online to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) and list CSW as a recipient. Signed copies of your 2020 federal tax documents, including 1040 (or equivalent) and all schedules, W-2s, and 1099s must be uploaded to SSS by February 15.
